On December 6th, 2024, the Rectorate of the University of Bonn (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität) adopted an Open Access Policy (official announcement in German).
This policy highlights the importance of free access to scientific knowledge and establishes a clear framework for Open Access publications at the University of Bonn. The university reaffirms its commitment to Open Science and to ensuring the widest possible access to scientific publications.
This policy promotes a shared vision and provides practical recommendations for integrating Open Access into everyday research practices.
The Open Access Service Centre offers various forms of support to help implement the recommendations of the policy, including:
- Administration of publication funds to provide financial support for Open Access
- Individual consulting and roadshows
- Publication opportunities at the university, e. g. via our institutional repository “bonndoc”
