Brepolis has made extensive modifications to improve the user interface of its bibliographic databases. With a more powerful search engine delivering more precise results, users can now work even more efficiently.
What’s New?
In addition to the familiar features, the new user interface offers numerous improvements that make working with bibliographic databases more intuitive and efficient.
The new interface is now fully responsive, allowing optimal adaptation to both desktop and mobile devices. The dynamic search field enables users to flexibly add or remove search criteria. With the new "All Fields" dropdown menu, users can now search all bibliographic data within a single field and easily select controlled vocabularies and filters with just a few inputs. Additional features include a thematic search, which simplifies browsing across different disciplines, topics, and time periods, as well as an improved results list with extensive filter options for even more precise refinement of search results.
Transition
All existing links to the old interface, including saved bookmarks, will be redirected to the new version until June 30th, 2025. After July 1st, 2025, links to the old interface will no longer work. Please be aware of this and adjust any personal bookmarks in advance.
Note: Some features of the old interface, such as journal and book series reporting and keyword highlighting in search results, are temporarily unavailable in the new version. These features will be added in future releases.
Future Features
Additional new features are planned:
- "Related Publications" will allow users to find publications with similar classifications both in the results list and in the detailed view.
- A cross-database search will enable users to search all subscribed Brepolis bibliographic databases with a single query, focusing on bibliographic details.
- The Request Assistant will help users efficiently create complex searches using various Boolean and logical operators.
- A comprehensive accessibility review will be conducted to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.
