We are pleased to announce that the Citavi license has been successfully extended to 12/31/2024.
An interim solution was agreed with the provider over the turn of the year 2022/2023 and a license was made possible at short notice until 03/31/2023.
In order to be able to use Citavi beyond 31/03/2023 you have to renew your license in your Citavi account and confirm your university membership.
Citavi has sent an email to all university users. Follow the link there to update your license for "Citavi Desktop & Web Bundle". Please note that this will only renew the license for Citavi 6.
If you are using one of the other Citavi versions (e.g. Citavi 5), you have to request a separate license in your profile after renewing Citavi 6. The license period is then automatically adjusted to that of Citavi 6.

If you did not receive an email or want to upgrade to a different Citavi version, you can follow the instructions below.
How to renew your Citavi license
- Log in to your Citavi account linked to the campus license at https://citaviweb.citavi.com/.
- Under "Continue with University" and My University: "Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn" you can log in with your Uni ID.
- Switch to your profile by clicking on your picture in the upper right corner (between "Switch language" and "Help").
- Go to "Licenses" in the navigation on the left side.
- In the middle of the bottom of the screen, select "New License" and then "Get your site license".
- Search for and select "Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn".
- Your license has now been successfully extended.
Please note
- You could experience longer loading times before you are redirected back to your profile. If you continue to see a white screen, reload the page.
- You can check the new term by selecting "Citavi Desktop & Web Bundle" under "Licenses" in your profile. The correct date is 12/31/2024.
- After step 5, you may need to log in to Shibboleth if you have not already done so in the browser session.
